International moving tips for success

If you’re planning a move abroad, these international moving tips will guide you through the entire removal process. Here’s what you need to do to ensure a successful international move:

Step 1: Enquire with Pickfords

Contact Pickfords on 08 531 949 00 to speak to your International Move Manager, who will manage your entire removal.

Step 2: Undergo an international removal survey

Our International Move Consultant will visit your home to discuss your transit and insurance options, and gain a clear understanding of your packing requirements by assessing and measuring your belongings.

Step 3: Receive your quotation and move plan

Your Move Manager will send you your paperwork, including the costs of your move and a schedule of activities on move day. Your move quotation may include a number of options for your consideration.

Step 4: Choose the removals services you need

Have a read of your international removals quote and move plan to compare the options recommended. It’s also worth considering your terms and conditions and insurance information.

Step 5: Book your international move day

Formally book your removal by completing the paperwork and returning it to your move manager.

Step 6: Relax!

  • On move day, our removal crew will securely pack the agreed items ready for shipping to your new home abroad.
  • Our international operations department will then arrange to forward your goods to our network partner at your international destination.
  • Our international removals network partner will clear your goods through customs (if required) and contact you to arrange a convenient time for delivery.

Follow these international moving tips to ensure your move abroad goes smoothly. For more information on any aspect of you removal, contact Pickfords on 08 531 949 00 or email stockholm@pickfords.com.
